Friday Spotlight (1)

When I first started my blog, not so very long ago, I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted to do each day on my blog. So, I made myself a schedule and on Friday's I decided to do a Friday Favorite, where I spotlighted a book I liked from the past. But, as I begin to move around the blogsphere, I noticed that I had stumbled across a lot of blogs that didn't have very many followers, just like mine! I then decided to change Friday Favorites to the Friday Spotlight. The Friday Spotlight will focus on a blog that I have run across in my blog roaming that doesn't have a big following yet. I will spotlight the blog and let my readers know about the reasons I like the blog and what it has to offer. Hopefully, this will garner that blog some new followers and my readers a new place to visit for more book blogging fun...

This weeks spotlight blog is: Cerebral Girl In A Redneck World

Cerebral Girl currently has 87 followers.

One of the first things that caught my eye on this blog was the caption under the blog title. It says: "An Ex-Bibliophile's Journey Back To The Passion Of Her Youth." I think it's very exciting when a person is able to pick up something that once upon a time they truly enjoyed.

There are several features of the blog that I enjoy. I like being able to look at the blog and know that the blogger is reading and listening to at that moment. I also like how Cerebral Girl has the giveaways that she has going on in a prominent position.

One of my favorite aspects of this blog is the What's Releasing ? tab on the sidebar, that lets you know what books are releasing that week, that's always of big interest to me. I like the amazon widget with her recommended books and the list of everything she has read during the year. I love the Cerebral Girl button. That's just really cute! And posting one's progress on challenges encourages others to join in.

But, the best part of this blog are the reviews that are honest without being hurtful. I think it is so very important to tell what you think about a book but in a tactful and respectful manner. She uses a 1 to 10 scale and describes her rating system on her sidebar.

All in all I really enjoy this blog and I think you will too!

Thanks so much for the SpotlightI! I really appreciate the "shoutout"! Sorry it's taken so long for me to get over here and properly thank you. I've been buried under paint for the last week, trying my hand at painting my bedroom!
