Synopsis:

In the sultry heat of the Big Easy, desire can be a dangerous thing.

Gabriel Toussaint Giodarno is a man at a crossroads. He returned to his childhood home in New Orleans to make amends with his long-lost mother and with the twin sister he'd always misunderstood. The last thing he expected was to be hounded by a magical guardian angel - or to be tempted by a beauty who is strictly off limits.

Angelique Rousseau has always lived a safe, uneventful life - which is far from what she desires. When her friend's twin brother arrives in town, Angelique finds herself drawn to him, even as everyone tries to warn her away. But what starts out as a devilish flirtation turns into a dangerous seduction. Neither Gabriel nor Angelique is prepared for the intensity of their joined passions, or for what the voodoo spirits have in store for them.

To heal his scarred soul, Gabriel will have to overcome his own fears and doubts and embrace the dark supernatural gift that is his heritage. And to save his life, Angelique will have to play the seductress and risk everything for a chance at love...

Thoughts:

R.G. Alexander brings readers a sequel of sorts to her bestselling book, Possess Me. Possess Me was a series of stories set in New Orleans with one key ingredient weaving throughout the stories, voodoo. Tempt Me is a full length novel continuing on the same theme. Mysterious voodoo spirits, special abilities, hidden agenda's and a lot more add up to make a very titillating book that erotic romance and paranormal fans will love!

Alexander has several erotic romances to her credit, and it's easy to see that she's done her homework with this series. The essence of New Orleans is clearly felt and seems to be the perfect setting for this book. When thinking of the city, I always imagine it as a place with so much history, that it's almost magical. it's easy to believer that magic exists in a place like this and Alexander does a remarkable job of conveying that dark, mystical side of the Big Easy. New Orleans is often synonymous with two things, vampires and voodoo.

In Tempt Me, Alexander once again goes back to the voodoo roots of the city and brings readers along for the ride. Bone Daddy, a voodoo spirit with a very sensual side reappears in this book and continues to cause mischief, but the main focus is on Gabriel. His twin sister, Michelle, can see spirits and it's obvious that he must possess some kind of supernatural ability as well, but figuring out what it might be, is proving difficult. When he returns home to New Orleans in an attempt to rekindle his relationship with his family, he is dark, brooding and somewhat unsure of his own sanity. Emmanuel, could be his guardian angel, maybe his conscience, or he could just be the conjuring of a deluded mind. Gabriel isn't sure, and he doesn't want to take any chances when he meets Michelle's best friend, Angelique.

Gabriel is a very sexy and passionate character. He has a sort of bad boy attitude and appears dark and mysterious, and the cover model bears an uncanny resemblance to Joaquin Phoenix, how could you go wrong with that? Alexander writes him with an edge. He is raw and full of doubts about himself. He certainly isn't what readers might expect from a hero and I think that made him all the more lovable. Angelique is a little harder to understand. Here is woman that pretty much has everything she's ever wanted, but being with Gabriel is almost like a walk on the wild side for her, a rebellious move against the normalcy of her life. Which of course isn't a bad reason to fall for someone, just a little on the shallow side starting out. But she grew on me and in the end I could truly say I liked her.

Alexander develops both characters throughout the novel and both change quite a bit. Gabriel gains confidence in who he is and what he can do, and Angelique finds out there is lot more to life than she ever dreamed possible. The heat between the two of them is scorching and love scenes are passionate and full of emotion. There is definitely a reason for labeling this one erotic, very steamy! I loved the overall premise of the book, Bone Daddy was so much fun to read about and I hope that Alexander continues the series and continues to elaborate on the voodoo roots of New Orleans. I wanted to visit the Big Easy before, now I really want to visit, LOL!
