Review: PurposeFull You

My Synopsis:

PurposeFull You by Shalonda "Treasure" Williams is a book of encouragement. Shalonda uses her talent as a writer and encourager to give hope to people who are struggling with their place in this world.

How many times have you heard statements like, "I thought you'd be married with a couple of kids by the time you were 30, " or " I don't think you should even try a career in that field, you'd make more money if you chose this job."

Society is constantly projecting it's own ideas into hearts and minds. In PurposeFull You, you'll find out that it's O.K. to step out on that limb, it's O.K. to believe that you were created for something more. For a greater purpose that is all your own.

My Thoughts:

I chose this short book to be my first read of 2010 for a couple of reasons. I was lucky enough to win a copy signed by the author with a personal note from GoodReads, which I was very excited about. Also, I wanted to spotlight a new and upcoming author with only a few books to her credit. Shalonda Williams is making the most of what she knows her greater purpose to be, as a writer, speaker and most of all an encourager.

This book had a few spelling errors and was slightly disjointed in it's style, but overall was a pleasant beginning to the New Year for me. The subject of your purpose is near and dear to my heart, because I recently embarked on my own path as a freelance writer. It is easy to overlook a few errors when the subject is something you feel is important.

Williams obviously has great faith and it was nice to see that used in a subtle but effective way in this 38 page book. Most people like me, don't need to be hit over the head with it, to get the point, and it was nicely executed here.

You can purchase, PurposeFull You, from Amazon, along with Williams' other titles, A Heart's Thoughts and Love Walk Meditations: Back To The Basics.

I give this one 4 out 5 apples from my book bag!

I am more than honored to have been your first read of 2010. Thank you for such an honest review. I will be fixing those errors. That's one of those perks of publishing it myself:-)

Thank you again and I will be following your blog.

Happy New Year!!!

See what we are reading and still need willing authors to bring their selections to complete the year of 2010 book reads.
