The Challenges of Writing a Novella vs. a Full Length Novel
The full-length novel has to have several more elements than a novella. There are more plot points, often several relationships that play into the story, and more internal and external goals and conflicts for the protagonist. Pacing those story elements over a full-length novel takes some planning and a lot of trial and error in the telling.
The novella is quite different. There isn’t enough room in the confines of the story length to explore more than the main couple’s relationship. All roads point to the Happy Ever After, and the novella’s short structure does not allow for detours. So the trick is to start the novella in a place that allows you to leap into the story with the main characters without a lot of backstory or development of a complex conflict.
Wedding Disasters or Weddings in General
Who doesn’t love a wedding? I love the dresses, the food, the dancing…I don’t get invited to enough. As an author, it’s a lot more fun writing about wedding disasters rather than weddings. Nothing builds suspense like a will-she-or-won’t-she moment at the altar. THE BRIDESMAID is a little different, but the reader feels that impending doom nonetheless.

No stories from me either. There are some pretty good movies about bridesmaids though. Like 27 Dresses and Bridesmaids just to name two.
I have been a bridesmaid once. It was in December and we had on dresses that had a big hole in the back and we were so cold our teeth chattered as we stood in front of the church.
Never a bridesmaid because I was pregnant when asked. I imagine going into labor during the ceremony or reception could make for some hilarious reading!

Don't have any bridesmaids stories to share
I was Maid of honor in my sisters wedding and we had a mishap with the cake. It was supposed to be delivered but the van broke down and we had to go get it ourselves. I was getting into my dress on the way up the stairs to go down the aisle. I barely made it into the line right before I was supposed to go up... LOL!
I personally haven't been a bridesmaid but a good story from a wedding I went to. The bridesmaid, along with the bride, did a bit of a Charlie's Angels thing after walking down the aisle just before they started the ceremony! Got a good laugh and sure surprised the groom :)
