Thoughts:

I received this book for review quite awhile ago from a fellow Kentucky, writer, Lori A. Moore. I had previously reviewed Lori's book, From Zero to Christian in Just 35 Years. Missing Andy is a book focused on finding joy after the loss of a loved one. Some people have such a difficult time with grief that they are almost consumed by it. Lori's book shows her own struggle with grief and how she fought through it with the help of the Lord.

When I think about death I hope that those who carry on after me will see it as a joyful celebration. Sometimes in this life we have hardships and trials but in the next it will all be joy. One of the things that I liked most about this little book, only 70 pages, was that it was able to show us the stages of grief and the feelings you go through as you face the loss of someone dear to you.

But, this book also showed the great friendship that Lori was able to have with her ex-husband Andy, who was also her best friend. This was never more evident than in the opening letter by Lori's husband, Michael Moore. It takes a strong man to allow his wife to be best friends with her former husband, I'll tell you that. It's easy to see that Andy touched a lot of people and in a profound way and now Lori is touching us, with his story. A great portrait of the love of Christ in action...

Missing Andy is available NOW from your favorite bookseller.

I'm giving this one 4 out of 5 apples from my book bag! I recommend this one to anyone who is struggling with the loss of a loved one and anyone who has ever had a dear friend go to be with the Lord.
