Synopsis (Book Blurb):

Saari Mitchell sees a psychologist in order to understand why - 500 years later - she's still dreaming of her dead lover. Her shrink isn't helping, the nightmares come every time she closes her eyes, and the lack of sleep is interfering with her job at Sacred Heart Hospital. With her psychic ability to heal the human spirit on the fritz, her auric radar becomes as reliable as her spotty cell phone service.

By day, Dhelis Guidry works as a detective for the Ne Angeles Police Department investigating the missing and murdered women in the Full-Moon Killer case. In his spare time he hunts rogue vampires as a Tueri executioner.

Brogan Vincent is a Tueri healer. Though he could offer his miraculous talents to the rich and powerful, he has chosen anonymity and peace by only using his psychic abilities among the Tueri

One look into Saari's tri-colored eyes and both men realize she is Tueri. One touch tells them each she's their soul mate. But can either of them protect he from the Full-Moon Killer?

Thoughts:

I love a good paranormal romance and this one really hit the spot. Author Renee Rearden sets up this novel with a vampire love triangle. One psychic with the ability to heal the human spirit, one Tueri executioner and one Tueri healer. This book is filled with great characters and a unique twist on the vampire theme.

Saari Mitchell is an immortal with a problem. She can't seem to forget her lover from 500 years ago. That's a long time to pine over a man! She's seeing a psychologist hoping that it will help, but nothing seems to stop the nightmares. On her way home from her job at Sacred Heart Hospital she is attached. Her best friend, Mag saves her life, but she is gravely injured.

When she meets Dhelis Guidry, he knows right away that she is Tueri like him an ancient breed. He also knows that she is the woman he's been waiting for all his life. He waits patiently and tries to bring her into his world slowly, but he soon realizes that he must take her to a friend who a healer. Enter Brogan. Brogan is Tueri healer who also thinks Saari is his soul mate. What's a woman to do? While she's trying to figure that out, both men are trying to protect her from a more serious threat, the Full-Moon Killer.

I thought the author did an excellent job with character development. Not only did she flesh out the main characters of the story, but the supporting cast as well. Mag is a great character, you can feel the friendship and love radiate from him. Alarico is the bad boy alpha type, got to have one of those in a good romance and he was so fun to read. The main characters are just beginning their relationships so don't count on really steamy scenes just yet. Give them some time, LOL!

There is a lot of strong action in the book and the sub-plot involving the Full-Moon Killer will really catch and keep the interest of many different types of readers. Urban Fantasy Fans will love it as well PNR fans. I think the agreement made by Brogan and Dhelis at the end really sets up for a second book and I look forward to reading that one as well.

I'm giving this one 4 out of 5 apples from my book bag!
